Where We Are

Lincoln County is in the south central part of New Mexico and was named for President Abraham Lincoln. It's bounded on the north by Torrance and Guadalupe counties, and in the east by de Baca and Chaves counties. The southern boundary is shared with Otero County and the west is bounded by Sierra and Socorro counties. The county seat is Carrizozo or "Zozo", named for the carrizo grass used for cattle feed, and the largest municipality is Ruidoso on the Ruidoso (Noisy) River.
